With everyone focused on the controversy surrounding Roseanne Barr, President Donald Trump issued the sole presidential pardon which liberals have feared since the day he was elected. You are going to love this.
Dinesh D’Souza is undoubtedly one of the most prominent and vocal conservatives in America. The most prosperous documentary filmmaker of all-time, he produced the wildly popular movie”2016: Obama’s America.” However, while D’Souza has been unbelievably successful, his job was also made him a target.
Donors rarely face fees for such offenses, and the investigation to D’Souza’s action was widely viewed as a political witchhunt, but he pleaded guilty to the charges in federal court in 2014.
His attorney argued that the authorities”targeted” D’Souza”due to his consistently caustic and highly publicized criticism” of President Obama.
He filed court documents in the time claiming that his client was”selectively targeted for felony prosecution due to his outspoken, hands and politically controversial criticism and condemnation” of the president and his administration.
Really, the double-standard when it comes to these kinds of instances is glaring. For instance, Democratic Party mega-donor Rosie O’Donnell was caught using four different names and five distinct addresses so as to provide Democratic candidates as much cash as you can.
Rosie O’Donnell made illegally over-sized campaign contributions to five Democratic federal candidates, according to a Post analysis of campaign postings.
The liberal comedian has broken Federal Election Commission rules restricting the total any one person can give to a single candidate at $2,700 per election.
The limitation applies separately to primaries, runoffs and general elections.
O’Donnell tried to say that she had no thought she’d violated the law, claiming,”Nothing nefarious. I was not choosing to over contribute. If 2700 is the cut off — [candidates] should repay the cash. I really don’t look to find out who I can donate most to… I just donate assuming they do not accept what is over the limit.”
However, the fact that O’Donnell went to such great lengths to cover her tracks, with so many different titles and addresses, could certainly suggest that she was well conscious of her wrongdoing as well as taking actions to try and be sure she did not get captured.
“My stress is quelled by devoting to those opposing Trump [and] his schedule — particularly at night — when many of these were put,” added the liberal comedian.
D’Souza ultimately avoided jail time in his situation but was confined for 2 months at a halfway house, given five years probation, and ordered to pay a $30,000 fine.
However, it was announced today that he will be granted a full pardon by President Donald Trump, who agreed it was totally absurd to prosecute the filmmaker for something notable Democrats have consistently gotten away with. In announcing the pardon,” Trump explained D’Souza”was treated very unfairly by our government”
Preet Bharara, the U.S. attorney who resisted D’Souza’s instance, was fired by President Trump after refusing to resign if Trump transitioned to his own role at the White House.
D’Souza has promised that his case records show that the Obama-era lawyer sought prosecution for political reasons. “There is evidence in this case file, and there is a good deal more, that this was a political prosecution conducted by Bharara as a henchman for the Obama government,” he said.
Of course, the Democrats are not happy about the fact that President Trump will pardon Dinesh D’Souza. Without appearing like a bunch of hypocrites, which makes this news even 21, however, they really can’t complain.
