If you’ve watched Fox News over the last ten years or so you’re acquainted with Dr. Charles Krauthammer.
He is without a doubt among the most recognizable faces on the network but he is a lot more than that.
Krauthammer is an award winning writer, a Pulitzer Prize winning author, and a doctor who has produced a positive impact on individuals around the world throughout his long career.
Regrettably, we learned now that Krauthammer’s career is coming to an end.
Krauthammer has released a statement telling his supporters that he has weeks to live.
Here is the statement.
Charles Krauthammer, the brilliant Fox News Channel personality who gave up a pioneering career in psychiatry to become a Pulitzer Prize-winning political analyst, on Friday disclosed the heartbreaking news that he is in the final phases of a losing battle with cancer.
The 68-year-old’s incisive takes on politics of this day happen to be missing from Fox News Channel’s”Special Report” for nearly a year as he battled with an abdominal tumor and subsequent complications, but coworkers and viewers alike had held out hope that he would return to the evening show he helped establish as must-viewing.
However, in an eloquent, yet unblinking letter to co-workers, buddies and Fox News Channel viewers, Krauthammer disclosed that he has just months to live.
Although a succession of setbacks left him in the hospital at the ensuing months, he believed until recently that he had been on the path to recovery.
“There wasn’t any indication of it as recently as a month ago, so it is aggressive and spreading rapidly. My doctors tell me their very best estimate is that I have only a couple weeks left to live. This is the final verdict. My fight is over.”
What is there to say?
Krauthammer was a great man respected by everyone in the business. He’ll be tremendously missed and words can’t even explain the sadness this will bring to so many.
