At long last, the American people may FINALLY get some answers with respect to this Obama administration’s infamous grams *n trafficking scandal dubbed “Fast and Furious.”
Since the leftist progressives continue to look for non Russian boogie men beneath their beds, the Trump government is promising to launch the documents of interest to the scandal that former Attorney General, Eric Holder, refused to provide.
Fast and Furious was one of many scandals under the Obama administration yet there were no special prosecutors made, no grand juries convened, no discharged memos to the New York Times by means of a friendly and oh-so-helpful professor in Columbia, and no mysterious anonymous sources speaking to the Washington Post.
In case you’ve forgotten, Operation Fast and Furious was an operation throughout the Obama regime which worked in coordination with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) where the federal government allowed criminals to purchase g**s in Phoenix-area stores with the intent of tracking them as they had been transported into Mexico. On the other hand, the ATF lost track of more than 1,400 of the greater than 2,000 g**s they allowed smugglers to buy.
Amanda Gonzalez, a spokeswoman for the House Oversight Committee, said in a statement to Fox News –“For over six years, the House Oversight Committee has fought for further documents related to Operation Fast and Furious. Now, the Committee finally attained a conditional settlement with the Department of Justice.
The Committee seeks all relevant facts so we are able to learn from the errors made by the Justice Department. We have a duty to uncover the reason why they worked so tough to hide this information from the Committee, the family of border patrol representative Brian Terry, and the American people.”
Terry was killed in 2010 by an illegal alien with a weapon used in the epically botched Operation Fast and Furious. He died in a gunfight between Border Patrol agents and associates of a six-man cartel”tear team,” which patrolled the desert along the U.S.-Mexico boundary searching for drug dealers to rob.
Terry’s family, especially his brother Kent Terry want the scandal to be investigated and those responsible to be held accountable for their actions.
Yet, Obama always states his government was”scandal-free”. When reminded of scandals such as Fast and Furious that happened on his view, Obama called them as”phony scandals”.
American Thinker had this to say of so-called”phony scandals” saying –“Phony scandals are the ones which do not own a smidgeon of proof of a crime, such as alleged Trump collusion with the Russians or obstruction of an investigation that was never stopped or even slowed down.
Phony scandals do not create body bags as the Obama management created in Benghazi and throughout Operation Fast and Furious — the Obama government’s g*n-running operation where it armed Mexican drug lords and cartels with heavy weapons for which the U.S. Border Patrol had no protection or match.
Well, It Appears this statement just blew the lid off of one of those Obama regime’s”phony scandals”…
Reuters reports –“The U.S. Justice Department has agreed to provide congressional investigators confidential records on a failed gram *n-trafficking operation during the Obama administration called”Fast and Furious” that long was criticized by Republican lawmakers.
In a statement issued Wednesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said the Justice Department would hand over records to the Republican-led House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform that had been withheld by Democratic former President Barack Obama’s administration.
The agreement reached by Republican President Donald Trump’s government will effectively end a six-year-long legal conflict where the committee had gone into federal court to try and enforce a subpoena it had issued to obtain the records.
Congressional Republicans have been pressing on the Justice Department for years concerning the operation. Named after a movie about car racing, the operation sought to suppress g*n-trafficking offenders who were selling weapons to Mexican drug cartels.
In June 2012, the Republican-led House appeared to hold Attorney General Eric Holder, an Obama appointee, in contempt for failing to turn over records about the surgery. The committee resisted Holder to get access to the files in August 2012.
Democrats in the time accused Republicans of engaging in a witch hunt.
In an effort to construct bigger cases against major g*n traffickers who have been selling arms into Mexican cartels, U.S. law enforcement officials elected not to violate lower-level offenders transporting more than 2,000 illegal g**s.”
The settlement agreement was filed at federal court in Washington D.C. and ended six years of litigation caused by the Obama regime’s refusal to make records subpoenaed by the committee.
This settlement agreement is an important thing to be certain that the public finally receives all the facts associated with Operation Fast and Furious.”
