After Laura Bush Calls Trump ‘Immoral,’ Sarah Hits Her Where It Hurts The Most

This time, it was former First Lady Laura Bush who was talking out, going so far as to call the Trump administration”immoral.” But , total badass Sarah Huckabee Sanders came along and hit where it hurts the most.

Former First Lady Laura Bush hopped on the bandwagon this weekend, criticizing the Trump administration for separating children from their parents whenever they cross the border illegally.

Bush’s chastisement of Trump was even more eye-roll-inducing than many others we’ve heard, however, as she was basically slamming President Trump for enforcing immigration laws which were signed by her own husband.

“On Sunday, a day we as a country put aside to honor fathers and the bonds of family, I was among the millions of Americans who watched images of children who were torn from their parents,” Mrs. Bush wrote in an op-ed for The Washington Post.

“In the six weeks between April 19 and May 31, the Department of Homeland Security has sent nearly 2,000 children to mass detention centers or foster care. Over 100 of those children are younger than 4 years old.”

“The motive for these separations is a zero-tolerance coverage for their parents, that are accused of illegally crossing our borders,” continued Laura Bush, conveniently leaving out an extremely important detail — the”zero-tolerance coverage” was signed into law by her husband. “I appreciate the need to enforce and protect our international boundaries, but this zero-tolerance policy is unkind. It’s immoral. And it breaks my heart.”

When asked about the president’s reaction to the guide, Sanders explained that Trump shared her worries and urged Congress to change the laws which were forcing the kid tragedy in the border.

“Frankly, this legislation was actually signed into effect in 2008 under her husband’s leadership, not under this administration,” Sanders said in the White House press briefing on Monday, speaking to the Trafficking Victims Prevention Reauthorization Act signed by Bush in 2008.

“This legislation encourages families to put children in the hands of smugglers to bring them alone on this hazardous trek northward,” Nielsen explained during the White House press briefing. “And make no mistake, we have talked about this before — that this trek is dangerous and deadly.”

Coincidentally, in 2014, the Obama government also blamed the Bush-era law for the sudden influx of unaccompanied minors in the border. “Sometimes truth transcends party,” she wrote on Twitter.

Sometimes truth surpasses party.

As Sanders pointed out, preceding administrations are responsible for creating this issue or failing to repair it. “We are not the ones responsible for producing this problem. We’ve inherited it,” she explained. “But we are actually the first government stepping up and trying to repair it.”

We have seen the mainstream press, the Democrats, and RINO Republicans blame President Donald Trump for a few pretty bogus stuff because he took office, but bashing him for enforcing laws he did not even sign off on really takes the cake. Each and every day legislation are enforced that were established by previous administration.

The vast majority of our laws, actually, weren’t made by President Donald Trump. This is totally ludicrous and, once more, speaks to this glaring hypocrisy of those who will seemingly do anything to paint our president in a negative light.
